Returns Policy
In most circumstances it’s not possible to make changes to your order once you’ve placed it.
If you’d like to add products to your order, please place a new order for these items.
If you need to change details of your delivery address, remove items or cancel your order completely, please inform us by emailing [email protected]. Please type “Amend my order” in the subject bar and include your order number.
As everything we sell is hand-made some limited changes could be made but this will be dependent on where we are in the making process and the order not having already been dispatched for delivery.
Care is taken to deliver goods to meet your order, but in the event we supplied you with a product other than that was ordered it is your responsibility to notify us within 7 days of delivery. Email [email protected] Please type “Wrong Item” into the subject bar and include your order number.
Once we have received your email notifying us you have received the wrong item, we shall arrange a return from you. Once the incorrectly delivered goods are received back into our workshop, you have the option to have the correct item sent out to you (free) or you can receive a full refund via your original payment method.
In the case of an incorrectly delivered item, this must be “as new” when collected by us e.g. if you have opened the packaging to examine the goods you must not damage or mark the goods or packaging. The goods must not have been used. The goods must be collected or returned with the original packaging together with any accessories. Goods collected and received back not in original condition will be returned back to you with the cost of delivery charged to your account.
JC Leathercrafts will not accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit, this must be taken up with Royal Mail.
- Non Faulty Products:
We are only able to accept returns if your item is faulty. This is due to all our products being handmade to order. Please remember this when placing an order.
- Faulty Products
In the event that a fault develops with your product within 12 months of delivery please contact us by email at [email protected] Please type “Faulty product” into the subject bar and include your order number and a full description of the fault.
On returning the product you must provide us with proof of purchase. We offer a replacement service on all goods during the relevant warranty period.
Returns will not be accepted without prior consent. Please do not return your item without prior agreement. If you do, your item will be sent back to you and you will be responsible for the shipping fee.
All goods returned will be fully inspected, checked and tested for the fault advised. If the goods returned do not match the criteria advised or are found to be not faulty after testing we will have the right to request collection of these goods at your cost and no replacement will be issued.
- Personalised/Bespoke Products:
If your item has been personalised in any way or your product is a bespoke order, we are unable to offer returns unless the item is faulty.
If in the unfortunate event your item is faulty and you wish to return your order you must inform us by emailing [email protected] Please type “Faulty Item” in the subject bar and include your order number.
It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure all personalisation/text/colours are correct at the time of ordering JC Leathercrafts will not be held responsible for any mistakes made by you the customer. Please note all spelling, grammar will be copied exactly as supplied.
By purchasing a handcrafted item made by JC Leathercrafts (herein referred to as the ‘Product’) customers are accepting that due to leather being a natural material/skin their product will change over time. The leather will change in appearance, not limited or restricted to the following examples:
a) the leather may take on colours from any non-colourfast fabrics it comes into contact with
b) the leather will age over time which may result in the product changing in shape or stretching
c) over time the leather will darken when it is exposed to sunlight
d) over time the leather will change in colour and appearance when it is handled due to the natural oils which are present on the owner’s skin
e) the leather is liable to scratch and mark when it comes into contact with clothes and other items
f) leather may mark if it comes into contact with liquid
JC Leathercrafts offers all customers a ‘12 Month Guarantee’ on their Products purchased from JC Leathercrafts.
Due to the leather being a natural product, occasionally skins may have small defects and natural blemishes. This is quite normal and NOT grounds for a return.
J.C. Leathercrafts expressly excludes the following from its ‘12 Month Guarantee’:
a) any defect resulting in the leather or other fabric used to form whole or part of the Product including defects arising from a default in the manufacture of fixings such as (but not limited or restricted to) rivets or buckles
b) repairs required due to misuse of the product such where the product has been mistreated or used for any purpose other than the purpose intended and/or
c) where care guidelines have not been followed
J.C. Leathercrafts may from time to time use their discretion to agree to make repairs to products beyond the terms of this guarantee. In such circumstances, JC Leathercrafts will at their discretion agree on the terms of the repair at the time. Such repairs may attract a charge to be agreed upon with the customer before the product is repaired. Where a charge is agreed, J.C. Leathercrafts has the right to keep the item in its possession until payment of the agreed charge is made.
There may be instances when a J.C. Leathercrafts product may not be repairable, in such circumstances the following will apply:
a) J.C. Leathercrafts will return the product (Free) to the customer as soon as it has become apparent that the item cannot be repaired with an explanation as to why this is.
b) J.C. Leathercrafts will not be liable for the cost of postage incurred by the customer for sending the item back to J.C. Leathercrafts. J.C. Leathercrafts will not be liable for any compensation towards the customer in this circumstance.
When returning a product to J.C. Leathercrafts for a repair you are in agreement with the following:
a) that if an original fixing or thread cannot be replaced with a similar fixing or thread to that used on the original product J.C. Leathercrafts will at their discretion choose an alternative fixing or thread to use in the repair of the product
b) J.C. Leathercrafts will aim to dispatch your repaired product to you within 6 weeks of receiving it for repair but there may be circumstances where this might be longer (not restricted or limited to Holiday Periods) J.C. Leathercrafts will endeavour to keep the customer updated as to when their product will be dispatched
J.C. Leathercrafts reserves the right to refuse to repair any product under these terms at their discretion and for any reason not limited to or restricted by those reasons outlined above.
J.C. Leathercrafts reserves the right to alter the terms of this guarantee at any time. Any changes made to this warranty will be made at J.C. Leathercrafts discretion and will bind all customers regardless of when the product was purchased.

Shipping
If you need a product within a certain time frame please get in touch before placing an order so we can let you know if it is manageable.
All of J.C. Leathercrafts products are made to order. Once an order has been made, products will usually be dispatched within 14 working days of receipt of the order (and in any event as soon as practicably possible) unless any of the following circumstances apply:
- J.C. Leathercrafts has clearly indicated on the product description what the current dispatch times are for the product.
- Where a product is being made to the customer’s personal specifications/personalisation request.
- J.C. Leathercrafts is experiencing a high volume of orders for customised leather products.
Timeframes for dispatch and delivery are likely to vary at busy times of the year not limited or restricted to Christmas, sale time, promotional periods or any other time or occasion throughout the year.
J.C. Leathercrafts will not be liable for any errors made by the customer when providing their delivery address so all customers are advised to check their delivery address carefully before submitting their order.
Items are sent by Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded or 1st Class. We strongly advise you to choose recorded delivery as J.C. Leathercrafts will not be held responsible for items lost in the post. This is something you must take up with Royal Mail.
We are not shipping internationally at present but this is something we are looking into.
